Seasonal Therapy

BodiScience Seasonal Therapies

A simple description of what we may all be able to relate to as we experience the seasons, spring is a time of energy and renewal, we embark upon new projects around the house creating a spring cleansing and change. If we pay attention to our health we tend to experience more oils in our skin, hay fever, and a stirring up of emotions, usually a feeling of angst and excitement (emotions of the liver). Summer is a time of transformation and movement, we tend to see more irritation of our skin, rash, poison ivy, redness, rosacea and we are on the go enjoying the great outdoors feeling happy and joy-filled (emotions of the heart). In fall we tend to see our skin lack of lustre, dull and dry and we tend to feel melancholy and sadness (emotions of the lung). And in the winter we tend to see our skin lack tone and elasticity, we have feelings of fear and go within, more reflective (emotions of the kidney). Between each season we experience Earth which is what we refer to as the 18-day change of season. We may experience an adjustment, overthinking, and a sense of becoming re-acclimated. We may see our skin break out in blemishes and our moisture levels in our skin change.

When we are living out of the rhythm of the seasonal changes we experience life as being out of tune and it is a stress on our physical and emotional body, which contributes to our internal and external aging. Good food choices and exercise alone are not enough. Dancing to the circadian rhythms can be simple steps. – Dawn Tardif, Founder of BodiScience
